Who We Are
About ACTA

The Assam College Teachers' Association (ACTA), known in Assamese as অসম কলেজ শিক্ষক সন্থা, was founded in 1948 — making it one of the oldest teachers' organisations in northeast India. For over seven decades, ACTA has been the collective voice of college teachers across Assam's diverse districts.

We represent teachers from government-provincialised colleges, deficit colleges, and aided colleges affiliated with Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Assam University, Bodoland University, and Cotton University.

ACTA is affiliated with AIFUCTO (All India Federation of University & College Teachers' Organisations) and actively participates in national-level dialogues on higher education policy, UGC regulations, and faculty service conditions.
